About UVA and UVB
There are 2 UV rays, which are the UVA and UVB. UVA rays causes the aging process while UVB causes you sunburns.
Did you know about Sun Protection Factor (SPF)? SPF is an indicator that is present in all sunscreens. But do you know how it works? But most SPF found in sunscreen products only measures the degree of protection against UVB rays. For UVA, make sure your sunscreen product protects you from it too. In short, make sure the SPF on the sun block supports both UVA and UVB.
Here is a list of ways you can take to reduce damage to your skin from the sun
Ensure the sunscreen is effective against both UVA and UVB rays
Use as much sunscreen with the SPF of 15 on your skin. Using a lower SPF is more effective in preventing damage than using a product with higher SPF
When buying makeup products, make sure they have sunscreen built into them
Apply really thick layers on your skin. Most people don't put enough onto their skin
Do you know that sunscreen takes about 20 to 30 minutes to sink inside your skin to be effective? Therefore, don't apply it only during the last minute
If you continuously expose yourself to the sun, make sure you apply sunscreen 30 minutes after the exposure and another time every 2 or 3 hours during the activity (swimming or sweating)
Wear hats with wide brims. These hats are especially effective blocking your face from the sun.
